The Gut / Der Darm

Der Darm — Auf dem Farbfoto ist eine Skulptur in Form eines Darms festgehalten. Das Kunstwerk ist von oben fotografiert. Es liegt auf einer Rasenfläche mit kurzem Gras. Das lange Gebilde aus Glasfaserkunststoff ist in eine Schlinge gelegt, wobei sich einige Abschnitte überlappen. Seine Enden verjüngen sich stark. Eines der Enden weist einen kleinen hakenähnlichen Fortsatz auf. Daneben befindet sich eine Runde Öffnung mit einem kragenartigen Rand. Sie bildet den Übergang zum Dünndarm, der kein Teil dieser Skulptur ist. Im weiteren Verlauf der Skulptur verdichtet sich ihre Struktur, so dass sie wie in ein weitmaschiges Netz gepresst erscheint. Seine Oberfläche ragt in Kurven hervor und bildet blasenartige Formen. Das andere Ende erinnert in Form und Struktur an einen Elefantenrüssel. Die Farbe der Skulptur der tschechischen Künstlerinnen changiert zwischen Grau, Violett und Türkis. Die durchschnittliche Höhe des Kunstwerks entspricht ungefähr der Größe eines Vorschulkindes. An der Stelle, an der Teile des Darms übereinander liegen, dürfte das Gebilde etwa zwei Meter hoch sein. Die künstlerische Nachbildung des Dickdarms befand sich zwischen 2020 und 2022 am Schillerplatz, einer Parkanlage in Chemnitz. —— The Gut — This colour photograph displays a sculpture in the shape of an intestine. The sculpture was created by Czech artists. The sculpture is photographed from above, from a bird-eyes view. The sculpture is lying on a lawn with short grass. The long structure is made of fibreglass and is laid in a loop, with some overlapping sections. Its ends taper sharply. One of the ends has a small hook-like projection and next to it is a round opening with a collar-like edge. This forms the transition to the small intestine, which is not part of this sculpture. As the sculpture continues, its structure thickens, so much so that it appears as if pressed into a wide-meshed net. Its surface protrudes with curves, forming bubble-like shapes. The shape and structure of the other end is reminiscent of an elephant's trunk. The colour of the sculpture varies between grey, violet, and turquoise. The average height of the artwork is about the size of a preschool child. At the point where parts of the intestine lie on top of each other, the structure is probably about two metres high. The artistic replica of the colon was located at Schillerplatz, a park in Chemnitz, between 2020 and 2022.
